World Quizzing Championship

Now in its 3rd year, the World Quizzing Championships will be taking place
in at least 9 countries: UK, Belgium, Malaysia, Estonia, India (in two
locations), Finland, Norway, Singapore and Canada (in three locations). The
International Quizzing Association would very much like to see Russia in
the list as well.
The competition itself takes place on 2 July, simultaneously in all the
places with the same questions. There will be 240 very international
questions, divided in 8 categories, 30 questions each, labeled as
follows:
- Sports & Leisure
- Lifestyle
- Entertainment: radio, TV, pop music, classical music, jazz, opera, ballet
- Media: film, literature, language
- Sciences: exact sciences, nature & flora & fauna, social sciences
- World: geography (both physical as human), Cities, Space, Inventions,
Technology, Transport, Tourism
- History: History, current affairs, exploration, famous people,
civilisations
- Culture: world culture, architecture, philosophy, museums, fine art,
religion, mythology
There will be 90 minutes to write down answers to all the questions. The
lowest score will be dropped. Then all the scores will be sent to a central
location and the one with the highest score will be declared World
Champion. The current champion is Kevin Ashman of Great Britain.
First of all we would like to get contact to people who were willing to
join the team of organisers. This would include translating the questions
into Russian and running the event in any chosen Russian town. For further
